What is a matching gift?
Employee matching gift programs are corporate giving programs.
For example, you made a cash donation to Migration Resource Center and the amount of your donation was $500. The company that you work for has a matching gift policy which matches an employees charitable donations at a ratio of 1:1. After you submit your matching gift form, your company will double your donation by writing a check for an additional $500 to Migration Resource Center.

After receiving your receipt, check with your corporate Human Resources (HR) department and follow their instructions.

I made a donation a few months ago. Can I still apply for a matching gift?
Yes! It's not too late to apply for a matching gift! Many companies allow employees to submit match requests for 1 year following the date of the donation.

My HR representative was not sure if our company offers matching donations. Now what?
It's still possible that your employer will match your donation, even if your HR representative is not sure. Check with your company's HR manager or if a smaller company then check with the owner or one of the corporate executives and ask if your donation can be matched.
